Conductivity Sensor Testing
The HYDROMO measures hydration through the use of a conductivity sensor. To determine the correlation between hydration and the conductivity of urine, Liquidus Diagnostics’ engineers ran tests using salt water solutions of known concentrations. For these first few tests, salt was the only solute included in the urine solution because it is the main component of urine that affects conductivity readings. As seen in the plots above, there exists an exponentially increasing plot that can be used to compare hydration levels to conductivity levels. The next tests that the company will conduct will use synthetic urine at body temperature.
